More things to love!

1: The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are back! They have a new album coming out soon and one of their tracks has leaked. I love love LOVE it. You can find it here. I’m so eggcites about the album now.

2: Safari 4. Oh its a beauty. It has this Top Sites view (pictured above) that showcases your fav websites, as well as a cover flow view for your history (so prettaye) and the tabs have moved up – making space for more tabs. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Get it here.

3: Luella luella luella. I’ve loved her since I first saw her stuff a few seasons ago. I want so many things from the line, especially the shiny tights! So cute.

4: How adorable is this albino hedgehog?? I’ll keep it out of the sun, and around all my other white pretty stuff (like my mac) think of how cute it would be sleeping on it. Awwwww.

5: I ❤ this model couple. First saw them on Stylesightings, when he was saying such great things about this young swedish pair. So cute right, Cheap Monday sent them down the runway together. I like their headgear.

6: This guy’s stuff. He gives you really random ideas, like leading a stranger along a map that he wouldn’t usually find. Its mostly ideas that help you connect with someone you usually wouldn’t make a connection with. Interesting stuff, he’s pushing boundaries yo. I want to try some of the stuff next time I’m bored.

Sex on fire

with 2 comments

loveToday I love:

1: LOVE the magazine. Other then the fact that the fatty I hate is on the cover, this mag is amazing. I’ve been reading bits and pieces of it online and it reminds me of Lula, just edgier. I love Lula too btw.

2: Crystal Kluge fonts. Her work is so damn nice. Why can’t I write like that? . The shoes are really nice too.

3: Mast Brothers Chocolate packaging. So preeeetz. These guys are in Brooklyn, and they hand make all their chocs. They look like a pair of peace loving hippies, with really good taste in packaging it seems.

4: This cute guy from The Sartorialist. I want to be his friend. He’s wearing a furry top under his jacket in the first pic! So cute lah.

5: Lover the label. Their style is really whimsical, pretty and girly. I love. Reminds me of Zooey Deschanel, I love her too.

6: The shoes at Matthew Williamson. EVERYONE is talking about this collection and how amazing it is. Yea its great, but why hasn’t anyone mentioned the shoes??!??! Because they are freaking FANTASTIC. Hot pink soles are soooo much hotter then red ones, no? That last Zebra print pair is the sex.

I need a new pair of shoes.

I love Singapore for all that it is, but I can’t help but seeing things that are wrong. No matter how hard I try to see myself growing old here, I can’t. A country is nothing but its people, and I think the people here lack spirit. You know when we were all children and we had the best friends in the world. Everyone was naughty, mischievous, cheeky – no one is like that anymore.

The kids here are like mindless studying machines, and their parents made them that way. Not that they are to blame, they just don’t want their kids to lose out. So these kids grow up, with one intention, to make their parents happy. But the parents are never satisfied – if you are number one in class, why are you not number one in your level? If you are number one in your level, why are you not number one in your school? And this goes on and on and on. Sad, no?

Some lucky ones get to go a little crazy, are brought up in a different environment, learn that being number one is not the only thing important in life and then when they grow up, they see everything wrong here and they leave. I’m not saying that the system is wrong, because its made us who we are, Singapore is so successful and its done so much, but there’s something lacking. And I don’t know what it is, just that the longer I stay here and the harder I look, the more I just want to leave.

I have to say that the friends I’ve made, both new and old, have shaped the person I am in certain ways, and those who have gone out of my life mostly had no spirit. They were like everyone else. Why would you want that? Why would you want to be exactly like the stranger next to you on the bus. Same dressing, same music, same thoughts, its so sheeplike. Its not wrong to follow trends or to want to be like someone you idolize, but you’ve just got to find your own direction sometime. Trying to be someone else never really gets you anywhere.

I believe in options, and life gives you that. It gives you opportunities, it all depends on you being wide eyed enough to see them and ballsy enough to grab them.

Dance with somebody

hugh

I just watched The Academy Awards, from start to finish. I’ve never done that before.

Hugh Jackman is such a hot piece of ass its unbelievable, seriously. Since I saw him in Swordfish when I was like 15, I fell DEEEEEEEPLY in love with this man, and my love has grown by leaps and bounds since then because LOVE HAS NO BOUNDARIES. HUGH IN A TUX is like the man of my dreams ok. PLUS he sings, dances and acts. He also has a super hot body, killer smile and a very nice aussie accented voice. How??!?! How can anyone be so perfect?? sigh. And to top it all off, he did an amazing job at the Oscars.

I’m really happy that Slumdog millionaire won 8 awards, its such a good movie, and I thought all the little performances were sooo sooo good. I’m actually really glad that I spent the last 3 1/2 hours on my sofa.

This is how my Sat night went. We all got together and headed down to Kenny Rogers at Great World for dinner. After wayyyyy too much Mac&cheese, we headed down to Zouk. Everyone was all dressed up and all because we were celebrating Ah Chong’s Bday!

1

Ade blew out her (imaginary) alcohol candles, we all drank till we were merry, took hipster pictures, smiled alot and got very very bored because the MUSIC WAS BAD. So we headed down to Play! It was much much much better there. Then we danced till the club closed and had nasi lemak for supper (: It was a really good night.

Everyone was in a very good mood, THUS THERE WAS ALOT OF LOVE! And we were not shy to show it.

21

Let’s see, Ade and Ju obvs need to get a room, since the two of them got married last week and all, ITS TIME TO APPLY FOR A FLAT GIRLS. Jon was being a little tarty! And Andrew got a little hungry I guess. See how we are slowly progressing towards having NO MORE BOUNDARIES! Lol, we are all such hot sluts.

I LOVE YOU GUYS! And Ade, I hope you had a great time you old woman. I can’t wait to go BKK with my ho’s!

How do you love with a fate full of rust?
How do you turn what the savage take?
You’ve been looking for someone you can trust
To love you, again and again

How do you love in a house without feelings?
How do you turn what that savage take?
I’ve been looking for someone to believe in
Love me, again and again —
Wire to wire, Razorlight

I was watching The Jimmy Kimmel show earlier, while waiting for American Idol, and this rather interesting topic about geniuses came up. There’s this thing that psychologists call the 10,000 hour rule, its really smart stuff and I can see how lots and lots of practice will make you better then some complacent asshole who just relies on luck.

But if it takes you 10,000 hours/ 10 years of constantly practicing for 4 hours a day to make you an expert at something, think about how few people out there are actually really really REALLY good at sex. Depressing right? Lol.

Street style is always the answer to a style rut. The girl in the yellow tights is only 15! I want to layer, layer, layer.

Mmmmmm, andro boy and girl in black & silver. hot.

And I’m really loving the whole Katie Holmes for Miu Miu campaign, the colors are amazing.
