10. Study group at Bukit Merah

Bukit Merah Macs is like study land. I’ve been going there nearly everyday this week to study for my papers and its ALWAYS full of students. With its harsh white lights  and very cold toilets, its surprisingly conducive. That said, I can’t wait till its all over.

Grandma: Oh you know I was watching this talkshow, and the experts were saying that sex is very important.

Priya: Issit? ok.

G: Yea, even in old age it seems. They were saying that alot of Indians over the age of 40 just stop having sex. But no, you should still be doing it! Supposedly, it keeps you young, and the nutritionist on the show was smiling this very cheeky smile when she said that its important.

P: ok. good lah.

G: And the Man was saying that you shouldn’t deny your urges.

P: hahaha. ok.

G: Yea too bad your grandpa is so old already.

P: Mah, you are old too.

G: I’m not that old, I’m quite young for a grandma ok. And fit too. So I have urges, and your grandpa can’t even stand anymore.

G:What?? It’s important that you know these things, one day when you get married, you’ll be faced with all these sexual issues as well. Make sure your husband can still stand when he’s old.

P:  Ok mah, I’ll keep you updated.

Said talkshow is hosted by a tranny, who is pushing boundaries in India.

Said nutritionist is a fat old lady who is easily in her 50s.

Said Man, is about 55, balding, and with a BIG paunch.

Can I please emphasize the fact that this conversation has scarred me for life. OH and she NEVER talks this way in front of strangers. Hahahaha, in front of them she’s just this nice little old lady, but in private… OMG, Trauma.

TiLt (: Things I Love Thursday

I’m going to be doing this every week from now on. Trying to inject some scheduling into my life.

– I’m loving this all boy photoshoot! Its just full of colour, and looks like alot of fun.

Dita, dita, dita. Just can’t get enough.

– Finding passion & purpose in life. I’ve been using some very Zen influenced tips to organize my thoughts & my life in general. Blame the tarot, the deck I use is Zen inspired. But I’ve really learned a lot from these things. So yea, read some articles, you never know what you’ll get out of it.

– I watched Confessions of a Shopaholic because I like the occasional chic flick. And I think that Krysten Ritter (the girl on the left) totally stole the show. She’s very pretty and I love her hair. One of the fashblogs I read did a post on her like a year ago when I didn’t know who she was, but yea, she’s really nice to look at.

Chun Eun Sil and her delightful illustrations. I could stare at her work all day.

– I think its genius how they matched interiors to macaroons. Making me want to redecorate and eat at the same time.

– Lastly, Thanks Ade! I love it. I think the whole series is super pretty (:

I’ll finally

qygot5dgolg8d7xfy2qcpsxho1_500jpgI think I’m having a quarter life crisis, people. I feel like I’m stuck in A FUCKING RUT. Like I don’t live enough. As though every day, every single predictable day is stealing my life away from me and I’m not doing anything about it. I know I can’t do anything (much) till I’m done studying, but then what? I really do not have a clue about what I want to do with my life.

Studying is such an escape.

You know why people always say their school days were the best? Because it probably was the most unpredictable. At least you have time to sleep in on weekdays, be a little crazy, tell everyone it’s because you’re still in school. But then you grow up, start work, become boring. And that’s just the way it is for the rest of your life. That’s why people envy the young so much.

I mean think about it, if the friends are worth it, you’ll keep them. School hardly ever teaches you anything in class anyway, you just kind of drift through the hours, trying to absorb things, waiting to go home and hit the sack. That’s all there is to it, no?

There’s no living after that though. Every year, you work like a fucking dog to save money, to go on a holiday. Only to return to the little space in your life you were in before. Back to square one. Your holiday didn’t change your life, you probably dreaded going back to work, but that’s just the way it is. It’s almost as though that holiday emphasized the fact that your life sucks.

I feel like I need a direction, and I know I’ve got to do that for myself. Because recently, it’s become clearer that I am alone on this journey.

No one else really knows what you’re going through, not your closest friend, not your mom, not your lover. Even if you think that you’ve told them everything, there’s no way that they’ll truly know. No one will ever get you completely. There are some things that people will help you on your way with and other things that you have to just figure out on your own. I guess this is one of those things.

Say hi – November was white, December was grey
