hello stranger.

My brain is in a mess.

Conversations with interesting people

I consider myself a very gifted 23 year old.

I’ve had quite alot of life experiences compared to the average 20 something year old Singaporean and a large part of it comes from spending time with people who are much older and wiser then myself.

This week I had the pleasure of being in the company of someone rather legendary – and she was everything that I want to be when I grow up. Smart, sharp, funny, entertaining and curious – in some ways she reminds me of my grandma. Let’s call her TC.

Hock: We do things in KL… things that make us happy.
TC: … group sex?

I have never heard a bigger reaction from the bunch of us.

A rather drunk FYY: U know the first time I met Hock, we got along so well. We were like an oddcouple, chatting about tea, blah blah blah
TC: So you guys talked?

She also asked us what we see ourselves doing in 20 years – and I was thinking about that when I got home.

I have no idea what I want to be in 20 years, but I do know what I don’t want to be. I don’t want to be divorced, a single parent, bitter, lonely or poor  – then it dawned upon me that this describes someone, and if you know me well enough, you should know who.

Weiming said to me that he really enjoys TC’s company because she makes you think. She makes you feel like you should be doing everything in your life with a purpose and for a greater reason then the task itself.

By right, that is the way you should feel, but we get jaded so easily – its refreshing to meet someone who is so vibrant at 77.
