My brain is in a mess.

I consider myself a very gifted 23 year old.

I’ve had quite alot of life experiences compared to the average 20 something year old Singaporean and a large part of it comes from spending time with people who are much older and wiser then myself.

This week I had the pleasure of being in the company of someone rather legendary – and she was everything that I want to be when I grow up. Smart, sharp, funny, entertaining and curious – in some ways she reminds me of my grandma. Let’s call her TC.

Hock: We do things in KL… things that make us happy.
TC: … group sex?

I have never heard a bigger reaction from the bunch of us.

A rather drunk FYY: U know the first time I met Hock, we got along so well. We were like an oddcouple, chatting about tea, blah blah blah
TC: So you guys talked?

She also asked us what we see ourselves doing in 20 years – and I was thinking about that when I got home.

I have no idea what I want to be in 20 years, but I do know what I don’t want to be. I don’t want to be divorced, a single parent, bitter, lonely or poor  – then it dawned upon me that this describes someone, and if you know me well enough, you should know who.

Weiming said to me that he really enjoys TC’s company because she makes you think. She makes you feel like you should be doing everything in your life with a purpose and for a greater reason then the task itself.

By right, that is the way you should feel, but we get jaded so easily – its refreshing to meet someone who is so vibrant at 77.

Laneway

leave a comment »

I had all intentions to do a Laneway festival Part 2 & 3.. BUT I DIDN’T HAVE TIME. So busy.

So I’m just gg to do a Laneway wrap up.

The lineup was fantastic – these ppl have some SERIOUS talent.

I love watching music live, and I really appreciate excellent musicianship. I know that term usually applies to classical musicians, but it takes shitload of practice to be good at any instrument and I believe that anyone who is able to make good music deserves recognition.

Here are some of my fav songs from the day:

Warpaint – Undertow

Ladyhawke – Love don’t live here

Foals – Cassius

Yeasayer – One

Yeasayer – Mondegreen

Love love love. We also got quoted in the Straits Times – Life Section.

Yea we all look like shit, cause we had been in the rain + humidity for a few hrs. But whatevs, bring on the marraige proposals!

Happy 2011

I know this is extremely late, but that doesn’t really matter.

I had the privilege of spending New Year’s eve 2011 with some of the people I hold closest to my heart – and it was fantastic.

It was a rather rough towards the end of 2010, with family and stuff, but this trip ended the year perfectly and brought in a very promising 2011.

Have a glass of bubbly and welcome in the year of the rabbit (: More pictures taken by Ade Chong here.

70 yrs old

leave a comment »

Omg look at my blog, its all cats and poetry. Sheesh, when did I turn 70? But this right here is a challenge, telling you things that do not involve cats, poetry and things which cannot be blogged about.

So, here’s how life’s been for the last few months:

Next week is my 6 month anniversary at this job. The weeks are slipping by faster and faster and as great a learning opportunity as this job is, I can only think about the future. Isn’t that terrible? Trying to live in the moment is such a tough little bitch.

Yea work really does consume your life. Can’t help it when it takes up all your daylight hours 5 days a week. Things are a-changing at work and I hope that everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Anyway, I had my convocation!

Yea we took some totally cheesy grad shots. Haha.

My 3 friends. Hahah, I do find it amusing that I’ve had these 3 fuckers with me since day 1 of sch. Its quite amazing how I usually end up becoming really close friends with the people I meet on the first day of school, come to think about it, that’s happened to me at every stage of my schooling life. I’m just anti social I guess.

In other news, I’ve been keeping myself busy making little accessories in my free time, its really quite fun DIYing stuff.

I’m really not going to show u guys a bunch of badly taken photos, cause taking photos of yourself really isn’t easy, but I will show some inspiration!!

Intend on making my own version of all of these things. Pretty pretty!

A day in the life

leave a comment »

On Sat, we headed down for Pinkdot 2010. It was all good fun, but this has to be my favourite part:

On meeting us, with our lovely glasses, Alan’s mum (the lady in the wheelchair) said:

Mum: Should it be up or down?
Us: One is before and one is after 🙂
Mum: I’m glad to see that you girls are having so much fun.

So nice 🙂 I love meeting people like these.

Alive?

leave a comment »

I came to a conclusion on the way home today afternoon. Anyone who is not having a good life doesn’t have the right friends. Seriously, the fact that no matter what, I know that when I meet my friends, nothing else is going to matter.

We are not going to talk about work, or economics, or other things with numbers. We are going to chill, have a ball, throw a party and sleep in. To think that there are people out there without friends like these is just IMPOSSIBLE. How do you do it?

Please find new friends.

The kind who flashes you their panties, imitates photos with you and lets you just do all sorts of nonsense, because there is no point in life if you are not having any fun.

and at the end of it all,
there’ll be no darkness.
just rainbow colored sunrises
&pearly whites in the night.
