Blue Valentine

leave a comment »

Over the weekend I watched Blue Valentine (2010), it was alright.

I do think that they did a fantastic job acting it, and Ryan is very hot nowadays, that’s always a compelling reason to watch a movie.

But I think the story’s a little bleh. I know its very real life, but it just didn’t seem movie worthy. Two people from dysfunctional families end up in one, is that really a surprise?

There was a line in the movie though that really stuck out,

How can you trust your feelings when they can just disappear like that?

That is so true, how can you?

Never let me go

Spend a quiet day at home yesterday and ended it off by watching Never let me go (2010)

It was beautiful, sad and very fragile – it completely broke my heart.

“…and I half closed my eyes and imagined this was the spot where everything I’d ever lost since my childhood had washed up, and I was now standing here in front of it, and if I waited long enough, a tiny figure would appear on the horizon across the field and gradually get larger until I’d see it was Tommy, and he’d wave, and maybe even call.”

I really want to read the book.

I totally went all giggly school girl when Edward Norton appeared on Modern Family. Did not expect it, and he’s totally adorable (:

This Hari Raya weekend was mostly spent in bed, both alone and with others.

We had a 6-7 hour movie marathon in a hugeass bed on Fri. Watched Be with me (again), Jesus Christ Superstar, Party Monster & Rocky Horror Picture Show, loved Party Monster. Also came across the documentary today and watched it, good stuff, you can find it on youtube.

Yea that’s what old people do, watch a shitload of movies, talk about bowel movements and frown upon everything. Not getting any younger, are we? I’m pretty sure that my life is just gg to be all bout work till dec, when everyone comes back and it’ll be ONEHUGEASS PARTY (:

10 things <3

Rewatched 10 things I hate about you a few nights ago, and my-oh-my, I have such love for Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Such an adorable little movie, and so nostalgic. This movie was released in 1999 guys.

1999. Damn.

Brightest Star

with 4 comments

I hope that someday,
I will find something beautiful in the wind.
Perhaps a likeness to your scent, your touch.

For since the day that you have gone,
all i can do is wait for moments,
to try and remember what it was like to be with you.

I hold on to the greying memories,
willing them to last just a little longer.
I fear for the day that they become a blur.

When your face fades away and I cannot remember us any longer.

People called us foolish, but there was no fault with us.
Perhaps we just knew what others did not,
that the summer was to be your last.

Still, all i can do is hold on to your memory,
and hope that it will suffice to get me through
the all consuming misery of losing you.

I watched the movie Bright Star today, it was so beautiful, I LOVED IT.

Although I do think that it is not for everyone, some will find it boring, but I thought it was perfect. Especially the cinematography, every shot was just beautiful. The colors were great, the acting was real, the atmosphere was so english, sigh. Love.

Now this is a great Valentine’s day movie (not that I’m one of those ppl who actually care about the day, I think its full of crap), the crappy looking Valentine’s day probably has nothing on this star. Gosh, I am such a sucker for period films.

I’m finally having holidays and all I can think about is how I should have worked for another month. Look at me, I’m not even in the corporate world and I’m already choosing to WORK over staying at home and not doing anything. I’m so going to be sucked into making moneyzzz next year. I’m determined to take some time off and relax a little now.

So here’s what I’ve been up to:

Music – Downloaded some pretty good new stuff (: as well as some old stuff that I lost when my baby crashed

Its amazing how happy music makes me.

Movies – re-watched some old favs (: and caught two new ones (on tv of course)

Seriously, the kind of trash they are throwing out these days, Save the last dance 2 was SO BLOODY BAD. I really wanted to change the channel 29389283 times but the lead actress is very pretty, so I continued watching – there wasn’t anything else to watch on tv anyways. She acted in Coyote Ugly, as one of the hot hot coyotes – I love that movie btw.

Mr. Magorium’s wonder emporium is a little less demented version of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, I prefer Charlie though, its like 10000 times better. I need to watch some good movies.

Other things (:

I got myself a Holga! After wanting a film camera for a really really long time, I wrote it down in my diary like 3 years ago, I finally put my money on one, it should be arriving soon!

Actually I have nothing else to blog about, my life is boring. I’m going to have dinner and rot in front of the tv for the next two hours. So glad the weekend is almost here, not that I have many plans, just means that I have the opportunity to make some! Btw, my holiday is going to last till the 3rd of Feb. What am I supposed to do with myself?

Watched 2 more movies today, and omg P.S. I love you was so good. Not as good as the book, but really very very sweet and romantic. And Gerard Butler is a SUPER HOT piece of ass.
